The Undercover Assessor - Time to show off!

Recently we had an undercover AA inspector. Whilst maintaining a very strong AA 3 star rating throughout we have also been further recognised for our exquisite food.

Since Chef Knockton joined us 4 years ago he has strived to produce dishes of the highest standard and superb menus. We achieved the high accolade of one rosette in 2008 which has been consistently maintained ever since.  However Chef Knockton, hungry to provide a dining experience a cut above the anything else in Exeter, continued to tweak, refine and evolve his skills with ever changing seasonal menus. Now his high calibre has been acknowledged.

Vino and food tasting - Friday 20 May at 7.30pm

I have been searching for a Vino and food tasting night around Exeter for sometime, however nothing seems to fit the bill. Events are too formal and regimented, over priced or just not a lot of fun. This led me to the next obvious conclusion - I have all the tools to put one on myself! Hence at the end of May we are planning an evening of treats hosted at the Olive Tree. Head Chef Knockton and Sommelier Roger Hanley will be taking us on a tour through vino and food. Try an array of fine vino and perfectly matched food.  Be it solely to further your knowledge and enjoy the experience or step further with our blindfold experiments! You are sure to have fun and make a few new friends along the way.

 Exeter Food Weekend

The transition from winter to spring is truly over and the scent of summer is in the air. Exeter’s summer events calendar is bursting with delights ranging from festivals to theatrical performances in the stunning Rougemont  park with its beautiful outdoor amphitheatre. First on the calendar is the display of the South West produce...the Exeter Food Fair Friday 26 to Sunday 28 April.

The Royal Wedding - You can view  the Royals in our Bar with nibbles on us or you can see them on the big screen at Exeter Food Fair.  Follow demonstrations from celebrety chefs and try a plethora of new and adventurous culinary delights.
